Susan Jennings, chief financial officer of the UAB Health System, has been recognized on Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of “Women hospital and health system CFOs to know, 2023.” On this list, she is among just 181 recognized female CFOs in the country.

Imagine choosing from among medicines and treatments that made bold claims about managing or curing serious conditions without knowing which could be taken seriously. UAB Hospital was once again named the best hospital in Alabama by U.S. News & World Report, in its 2023-2024 Best Hospital rankings, released today. The University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital also claims the No. 1 ranking as the best hospital in the Birmingham metro area.

Digital technology is used throughout UAB Medicine for virtual visits, remote patient monitoring, treatment procedures, collecting and using patient data, and much more. In recent years, nursing at UAB Medicine has made greater use of telehealth with approaches that are here to stay – at the bedside, in clinics, and in patients’ homes. These new approaches also help nurses provide more flexible patient care and make better use of the knowledge that experienced nurses have.
