How to Refer a Patient
For urgent referrals or inpatient transfers, please call UAB MIST (Medical Information Service via Telephone) at 1-800-UAB-MIST (1-800-822-6478) or email mist@uabmc.edu. UAB MIST is a toll-free, 24-hour service that connects physicians anywhere in the country with UAB Medicine specialists. To refer a patient, you can also fax UAB Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine directly at 205-801-8231.

UAB Pulmonary Services is consistently recognized among the best programs of its kind by U.S. News & World Report. Our Asthma Clinic focuses on patients with severe persistent asthma, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis. Our program is integrated with the UAB Lung Health Center, which offers new drugs and therapies through clinical research studies for qualifying patients. Telehealth services are available in some cases.
