Does UAB Medicine offer language interpreter services?
UAB Medicine provides free language interpretation services for hospital patients, for clinic visits, and for patients who have questions or wish to make an appointment. We try to provide in-person interpretation whenever possible, but if an in-person interpreter is not available, we offer remote interpretation services using online video or the telephone. The UAB Medicine Interpreter Access Line provides interpreter assistance via telephone for patients who want to make an appointment or have questions; this service may be reached by calling 1-855-938-0669. To request an interpreter or speak with a staff member for assistance, contact UAB Medicine Guest Services by calling 205-934-CARE (2273), or dial *55 from any hospital phone. Also, you may email interpreterrequest@uabmc.edu with any questions about interpretation services.
