Program Highlights
UAB Medicine’s preventive cardiology program provides multidisciplinary expertise to help reduce the risk for cardiovascular disease and related complications across the continuum of care. In addition to experienced cardiologists, nurses, and clinical exercise physiologists certified by the American College of Sports Medicine, our team includes dietitians, pharmacists psychologists, and a certified yoga teacher. As part of our specialized service offerings, we operate a hypertension clinic, a lipid clinic, and a cardiac rehabilitation program that manages over 9,000 visits annually and has helped patients achieve a 113% increase in exercise minutes per day.
