Fracture and Fragility Clinic provides care for osteoporosis-related injuries
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism have partnered to launch a new Fracture and Fragility Clinic aimed at improving access to specialized bone‑health care for patients at risk of osteoporosis‑related injuries, addressing a long-standing gap in care by ensuring patients who experience a fracture are promptly evaluated for underlying conditions such as osteoporosis or osteopenia — issues that often go undiagnosed following acute injury treatment. By streamlining the transition from fracture care to comprehensive bone‑health assessment, the clinic enables earlier diagnosis and intervention, which can significantly reduce the risk of subsequent fractures and long‑term health decline.
