What makes Teresa a DAISY winner?

“I was so heartbroken to learn of the passing of one of Kash and Kruze’s nurse mommies yesterday.  I just can’t even put into words the comfort she brought our family.  Five years ago, we learned Kash didn’t have much longer to live.  Teresa wasn’t even working that day, so I was shocked to see her come through the door with a tear stained face.  She heard the news and couldn’t let the day go by without giving me a hug.  On the day Kash passed, Keaton and I were sitting quietly holding our baby girl…staring at her, trying to memorize every dimple and line in her face.  Teresa walked in and shut the door, brought a chair, and pulled it directly in front of me.  She grabbed my hand and told me how much Kash meant to her and how much she loved our family.  She said that she had something for me that would bring me comfort. She was brought to tears as she placed her mother’s rosary in my hand.  I told her no, I couldn’t accept such a precious gift. She said, yes, it was laid on my heart, they belong to you. I am not Catholic and she knew that, but she followed what God put on her heart. That rosary is one of the most special things I own. I cannot imagine our life without meeting that special lady! Teresa helped change the world, one tiny patient at a time.”
