UAB Medicine continues its commitment to expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered care with the launch of four new clinical services in the third quarter of 2025. These new offerings strengthen UAB’s role as a leader in family medicine, behavioral health, dermatology and epilepsy treatment in Alabama.

At 9 years old, Ruben Vuittonet Jr. learned origami from a young boy whose father was a marine in Okinawa, Japan. Little did he know, 50 years later, he would be using this hobby to give hope to people all around the world, including at UAB Medicine.

Oct. 15 is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, a health care observation recognizing one of the most emotionally difficult experiences that parents and medical professionals can face. There’s no way to make up for the loss of an infant, but hospitals can guide and support families throughout the grieving process. UAB Women & Infants Services provides support specialists as part of its comprehensive bereavement care for families.

On May 20, 2025, Grayson Pope walked across the stage at his high school graduation. The straight-A student smiled as he accepted his diploma. It was a milestone moment — one his family thought they may never witness.
