Susan Jennings
Chief Financial Officer, UAB Health System
Jennings is a senior leader with more than 35 years of progressive experience within the healthcare industry. She has served in a variety of roles focused on organizational financial health and strategic financial decision-making. In July 2022, she was named chief financial officer of UAB Health System. In this role, she reports to the CEO of UAB Health System and is responsible for directing all financial aspects of the organization, including overseeing any debt/financing initiatives across the UAB Health Authority Obligated Group.
Prior to being named CFO of UAB Health System, Jennings served as CFO of UAB Hospital. Before joining UAB Medicine, she spent 20 years with Ascension Health in Birmingham, Ala., serving in several financial roles that culminated as vice president of Seton Health Corp., where she was responsible for the financial reporting activities across four hospital entities.
Jennings is a graduate of UAB and a Certified Public Accountant. She’s also a graduate of the Momentum Executive Leadership Program. She serves on the UAB Educational Foundation Board and the Huntsville Valley Foundation Board, as well as several academic medical center CFO committees across the country. Jennings was included on Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2023 and 2024 lists of Women Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know.
