Steve Roy
Business and Community Leader
Roy is an accomplished professional with over 40 years of business experience and financial expertise. After beginning his career with Ernst & Young in Birmingham, he spent over two decades in executive leadership, serving as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Movie Gallery Inc., as well as chief financial officer of AAA Cooper Transportation (ACT). Since the sale of ACT in 2021, Roy has continued his work on behalf of the principals of ACT, along with other business and financial consulting activities.
An esteemed community leader, Roy is a member of the University of Alabama Board of Trustees. He has chaired and served on various civic and professional boards, including chairing two community banks. He currently serves as a board member and chairman of the Audit Committee of OneWater Marine Inc., a NASDAQ-listed marine dealership operator, and he’s a past board member for the Business Council of Alabama.
In 1983, Roy earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Alabama. He’s actively involved with his alma mater, having served as a member of the President’s Cabinet, a member of the Culverhouse College of Business Board of Visitors, and president of his local alumni association. A lifelong resident of Alabama, Roy lives in Alexander City.
