Brock is a nationally recognized trial lawyer with 30 years of experience handling complex litigation. He practices with Kirkland & Ellis LLP from his offices in Montgomery, Ala., and Washington, D.C., focusing on product liability, mass tort, and class action cases.
Brock has represented companies in some of the most high-stakes litigation in recent history. He served as lead trial counsel for BP in the Deepwater Horizon Gulf of Mexico lawsuit, and he secured defense verdicts in a series of trials for Merck & Co. for its products Vioxx and Fosamax and for General Motors in a series of trials related to ignition switches. He’s a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of both the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Litigation Counsel of America.
A native of Montgomery, Ala., Brock received a B.S. in business and commerce from the University of Alabama in 1981 and a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1984. While participating in college athletics at the University of Alabama, he was recognized as an All-Southeastern Conference Lineman on the national championship teams of 1978 and 1979 under the leadership of the late Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. During law school, Brock was the first recipient of the University of Alabama Athletic Department’s graduate scholarship, and he was a member the law school’s Moot Court Board.
