DAISY Chris Foster

Congratulations to this month’s winner, Chris Foster, RN! What makes Chris a DAISY winner?

“On the 18th of April 2020, Chris Foster was playing golf at The Oaks Golf Course at Oak Mountain State Park when his golfing partner suddenly collapsed on the 10th hole green. Bystanders saw the individual collapse and observed Chris immediately spring into action. The bystanders said Chris checked for a pulse and started yelling for someone to call 911 and get the AED from the clubhouse. He immediately started CPR because the collapsed golfer had no pulse or respirations. CPR was performed by Chris for three minutes before the AED made it to the tenth green from the clubhouse. The individual was connected to the AED and a rhythm check was done indicating a shock was advised. Chris got everyone cleared and delivered the shock. He then continued CPR for two more minutes and was ready for the AED to analyze again when the individual started moving and Chris verified there was a pulse. He stayed with his golfing partner until paramedics arrived and is responsible for saving the man’s life due to his training and expertise.”
