Caring for a newborn can make life even busier than it already is, so how do you stay on top of things while keeping your baby close?

The UAB Women & Infants Center invites new and expecting parents to learn the basics of “babywearing” in a fun, interactive, in-person class. Babywearing is the practice of carrying your baby close to your body using a sling, wrap, or structured carrier.

It allows parents to stay mobile and even exercise while building stronger bonds with their child. The class features education on the different types of wearable baby carriers, hands-on demonstrations on how to use them, and answers to your questions.

The class will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in room 5320 of the UAB Women & Infants Center on the following dates:

  • Saturday, May 23
  • Saturday, August 8
  • Saturday, Sept. 5
  • Saturday, Dec. 5
