Susan Jennings, chief financial officer of the UAB Health System, has been recognized on Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of “Women hospital and health system CFOs to know, 2023.” On this list, she is among just 181 recognized female CFOs in the country.

UAB Women and Infants Center (WIC) has expanded its meal provision for mothers who are breastfeeding their infants during a stay in UAB’s Regional Newborn Intensive Care Unit (RNICU) and Continuing Care Nursery (CCN). Meals for mothers and their families have been provided on a limited basis in the past through a partnership with the March of Dimes Family Support Program. The expansion of this program by UAB Food and Nutrition Services now ensures that meals are available for mothers six days a week.

The Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia Clinic at UAB Hospital has been named a Center of Excellence by the Cure HHT foundation. HHT is an uncommon but serious genetic disease that prevents blood vessels from developing properly. The condition can lead to stroke, heart failure, anemia and serious bleeding — most often from the nose.
