Ronald Gray
CEO, Thompson Gray Inc.
Gray leads Huntsville, Ala.-based Thompson Gray Inc., which specializes in financial and business management services for the U.S. Army and other customers worldwide. He spent his earlier career in the research and development and aerospace industries, serving in a variety of management and executive positions ahead of his 1998 founding of Gray Research Inc., where he was president until 2011. He was awarded a patent in 1985 as a result of research and development work in the pollution control field and has been recognized multiple times for his entrepreneurial accomplishments.
Gray received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Alabama in 1981. In 2007, he was honored as a Distinguished Fellow by the university’s College of Engineering, and in 2010 he was inducted into the Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame. He has served his community and state on a variety of boards, including those representing the Alabama Aerospace Industry Association, the Army Space and Missile Defense Association, the Von Braun Center for Science and Innovation, and the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce. More recently, Gray was executive director of the Governor’s Tornado Recovery Action Council.
