Now enrolling Leading Science Well fall 2025 cohort

Burnout is common among scientists, but few interventions have shown real promise. One emerging approach is Job Crafting—a method that empowers individuals to shape their work experience by aligning job demands, resources, and personal strengths.
We’re inviting scientist leaders to participate in a research study testing a leadership and job crafting curriculum.
Eligibility
To participate, you must be a leader in a research group, laboratory, and/or team with at least two team members (i.e., subordinates) who report to you. You also must oversee administrative and/or financial aspects of a laboratory or research team.
Program Snapshot
- 8-week online, asynchronous course, 1 hour or less per week
- Fall 2025 cohort: September 15–November 9
- Optional weekly virtual discussion groups (60 mins)
- Certificate awarded at completion
- Enrollment closes: Tuesday, September 9th
What to Expect
Participants will complete three short surveys: before, after, and 3 months post-course (10–15 minutes each)—to help assess the program’s impact. You may also invite up to three team members to complete optional, anonymous feedback surveys.
Why Participate?
While there’s no direct compensation, your insights will help inform strategies to support scientist well-being, motivation, and leadership effectiveness across research environments. Participation in this study is voluntary, anonymous, and can be terminated at any point within the process prior to completion.
