Program Highlights

The UAB Department of Otolaryngology’s Head and Neck Surgery program launched Alabama’s first and only facial nerve clinic in 2017. The multidisciplinary team includes microvascular surgeons, physicians, radiologists, APPs, therapists, and other specialists, backed by the most advanced diagnostics and treatments – including same-day testing and/or intervention if necessary. Treatments include facial nerve weakness or paralysis caused by Bell’s palsy, Ramsay-Hunt syndrome, facial nerve tumors, cancer treatment, ear disease, acoustic neuromas, facial trauma, temporal bone trauma, parotid surgery, neurofibromatosis, vascular malformations, congenital malformations, or birth trauma.
