Program Highlights

The UAB Department of Otolaryngology offers comprehensive, state-of-the-art treatments that are tailored to the individual needs of patients with sleep-disordered breathing. We offer non-surgical and surgical treatments for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. With proper diagnosis and treatment, sleep apnea can be stopped or greatly reduced. Breathing devices such as CPAP machines and lifestyle changes are common sleep apnea treatments. Surgery, including Inspire implantation to improve airflow during sleep and nerve stimulation, is used to treat sleep apnea, especially when CPAP therapy fails.

Among the highest case volumes in the nation for hypoglossal nerve stimulator implantation
