Scheduled Clinic Video Visit

Scheduled Clinic Video Visit

This option allows your UAB Medicine primary care or specialty care provider to perform basic physical exams, diagnose common medical conditions, manage complex care, and provide personalized treatment plans “face to face” using technology. If lab work or imaging (such as X-rays) is needed, it will be ordered and done at another time. A smartphone (preferred) or computer with a web camera and Google Chrome installed is required.

Is this option right for you?

eMedicine Video Visits are available if:

  • You never had an appointment but you want to make one.
  • Your appointment was canceled and you want to reschedule using eMedicine.
  • Your clinic contacted you and changed your in-person visit to an eMedicine visit.

Patients may call 205.934.9999 or toll-free 800.822.8816 to schedule a Video Visit.

To schedule or reschedule a Video Visit directly with your provider, please call your provider’s office.

On-Demand Urgent Care Video Visit

Visit “face to face” over video with a trusted provider, similar to an in-office visit. Care providers are available to evaluate symptoms, make a diagnosis, recommend treatment, and send prescriptions to your pharmacy. We suggest this option if you think you have a more urgent common condition that may require a physical exam. The cost is $59, and you must be at least 18 years old.

NOTE: A wired or Wi-Fi Internet connection is recommended (UAB eMedicine is not responsible for data charges for Video Visits done through a cellular connection).

On-Demand Urgent Care Online Questionnaire

Get easy, affordable access to a trusted UAB care provider from your mobile device or computer–anytime, anywhere. Answer questions about how you’re feeling in an online form and a UAB provider will share your diagnosis, treatment plan, and send any needed prescriptions to your pharmacy in about an hour. This option is best for common conditions and routine illnesses, like ear infections, colds/flu, rashes, or UTIs. The cost is $25, and you must be at least 18 years old.
