To better serve residents of Gardendale and surrounding communities, UAB Medicine Gardendale has opened an Allergy and Asthma Clinic. Amy CaJacob, MD, and Kathleen Grisanti, MD, both board certified in Allergy & Immunology, are accepting both adult and pediatric patients for a range of allergy diagnoses including:
- Allergic rhinitis (hay fever)
- Atopic dermatitis (eczema)
- Asthma
- Drug allergy
- Food allergy
- Stinging insect allergy
- Angioedema and urticaria (swelling, hives)
- Eosinophilic esophagitis
Services available at UAB Medicine Gardendale include:
- Skin prick and blood allergy testing
- Lung function testing
- Allergy shots
- Biologic injections to treat asthma, eczema, and nasal polyps
- Food challenges
- On-site laboratory services
- Comprehensive imaging services including chest x-ray and CT scans
- A fully staffed Emergency Department
