Why get a second opinion?
A second opinion can give patients increased confidence in their original diagnosis. It can also empower them to make more informed decisions about their health care and explore alternative treatments in some cases.
Online Second Opinion is convenient, and it’s especially helpful for people who live outside of major population centers. It gives these and other patients remote access to UAB Medicine’s world-class health care and research expertise, supported by a wide range of specialists.
A second opinion can also increase patient satisfaction and contribute to better health outcomes, by helping ensure more accurate diagnoses and more effective treatment plans. At UAB Medicine, we believe that offering second opinions is an important part of providing complete, patient-centered health care.
