Cribbs Named Director, New Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program

Marc Cribbs, MD, joins the UAB Division of Cardiovascular Disease as Assistant Professor and Director of the newly instituted Alabama Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program.

Dr. Cribbs comes from Ohio State University/Nationwide Children's Hospital where he was a Schooler Family Fellow in Adult Congenital Cardiology. Dr. Cribbs completed his residency in medicine and pediatrics at Baylor followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is a member of the Adult Congenital Heart Association, International Society of Adult Congenital Heart Disease, American College of Cardiology, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program will work in conjunction with the UAB Division of Pediatric Cardiology in order to ensure a transition for patients aging out of the care provided bypediatric cardiologists. Additionally, the program will work collaboratively with other UAB specialists in the divisions of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the Department of Radiology.

UAB is home to the only adult congenital heart disease program in Alabama.

Dr. Cribbs will see patients at UAB in The Kirklin Clinic and the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic, and plans to partner with community physicians to provide specialty care for patients in outlying clinics.
