Are You Prepared for an Emergency?
The best way to recognize National Preparedness Month? Preparation.
National Preparedness Month is recognized each September to promote family and community disaster and emergency planning now and throughout the year. The 2019 theme is “Prepared, Not Scared. Be Ready for Disasters.”
During an emergency such as a hurricane or flood, there’s always a rush to gather up things that could save a life or just come in handy. But a preparedness kit, made in advance, can ensure that you already have the essentials on hand when disaster strikes. Download or print the preparedness kit checklist below as part of your own preparedness plan.
For more information and resources for dealing with any level of emergency, visit the Alabama Department of Public Health’s A-Z preparedness page.
