7 Things Your Cardiologist Wishes You Knew
For Heart Month, we polled a team of cardiologists at UAB Medicine and asked them what words of wisdom they had to share when it comes to heart health. We've all heard the cold, hard facts about heart disease and prevention but these words are sure to inspire you to take care of your heart in every sense.

A happy heart is a healthy heart.
Weight loss is a great place to start in decreasing your risk of atrial fibrillation.
I would much rather you lose a pound a month and maintain the loss than lose 10-20 pounds that you can't keep off.
I don't have any problems with natural or holistic therapies. I want what is best for my patient...
Get a dog or other pet! Some studies actually show that owning a dog can lead to lower blood pressure & cholesterol.
Spend at least 30 minutes outside each day.
