Transplant Services

UAB’s Transplant Services provides patients with comprehensive pre and post transplant care for the Renal, Liver and Heart Transplant patients.

Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (BMT)   
The Bone Marrow Transplant staff strives to provide exceptional care to every patient while maintaining and continuously working to keep our positive culture alive in order to provide our staff with a great working environment.

Heart and Lung Transplant ICU (HTICU)   
The Heart and Lung Transplant ICU provides care for the adult patient during the pre- and post-transplant phase. Care is also provided to patients in the adjoining outpatient ambulatory Cardiothoracic treatment unit.

Liver Transplant Unit   
The Liver Transplant Unit provides care for patients undergoing liver transplant and liver resection during the pre- and post-operative period.

Renal and Renal/Pancreas Transplant Unit   
The Renal and Renal/Pancreas Transplant Unit provides care for patients who have received kidney or pancreas transplants, both immediately post-operative and on readmission for problems or complications.
