The Nursing Orientation program provides the newly hired Registered Nurse with a comprehensive, sequential orientation process.
New Employee General Orientation
- All UAB employees attend a 1 ½ days general orientation to cover information including:
- Benefits
- Parking
- General Hospital Policies
- Broad orientation to the Hospital and surrounding campus
- Obtain employee identification badge
Nursing Staff Development Orientation
- All newly hired Registered Nurses attend 5 ½ days of classroom orientation
- Roles in the Workplace

Nursing Unit Orientation
- Unit specific and variable in length according to your experience level
