Hematology - Oncology Unit
The Hematology - Oncology Unit provides care to patients with hematology and oncology related diagnoses utilizing the latest technology available. Patients are cared for by our collaborative team with members from the Nursing, Medical, Radiation, Chemotherapeutic and Palliative Care Services.
Patient Population
- Acute Leukemias, Lymphomas, Hodgkins, Multiple Myeloma
- TTP/ITP, Aplastic Anemia, Sickle Cell Disease
- Lung, Breast, Colon and Testicular Cancer
- Melanoma and Angiosarcoma
- Radiation patients include: Thyroid and Cervical cancer

- 12 hour shifts 7a-7p and 7p-7a

- Registered Nurse - 70%
- Patient Care Technician - 30%
Nursing Unit Orientation
- Structured 10 week program with an assigned preceptor
- Chemotherapy certification class
