Highlands Orthopaedic Surgery Unit

The Orthopedic Surgery Unit at Highlands provides post-operative care to patients with a wide variety of bone, joint and muscle problems. 

Patient Population:

  • Adolescent - Geriatric
  • Hip and Knee
  • Foot and Ankle
  • Hand and Upper extremities
  • Sports Medicine
  • Orthopedic Oncology
  • Fracture Fragility


Number of Beds:

  • 27


Nurse/Patient Ratio
:

  • 1:4-5


Rotation/Shifts:

  • 12 hour shifts 7a-7p and 7p-7a
  • Work every 3rd weekend
  • Flexible scheduling


Skill Mix:

  • RN 68%
  • PCT 32%


Orientation:

  • 6-8 weeks
