Heart and Vascular Center (HVC)

The HVC is one of the largest of its kind in the Southeast with 13 new labs housing the latest digital, flat plate technology which provides the best imaging and reduced radiation exposure. The HVC is designed with streamlined care in mind for the convenience of our patient’s and staff.

Patient Population

• Adult and Pediatrics

Number of Beds

• 48

Nurse/Patient Ratio

• Variable depending upon specific procedure type
• 1:1 for procedures
• 1:3-4 for pre-procedure workup
• 1:2 for immediate post-procedure period

Rotation/Shifts

• Monday through Friday
• Variable shift patterns between 0530 and 2100
• 5 on call teams cover after hours and weekends

Skill Mix

• Registered Nurse
• Patient Care Technician

Nursing Unit Orientation

• Area specific
• 6 week minimum
