Since 2008 I have had 8 or 9 plasmapheresis treatments at UAB with each treatment lasting 9 to 11 days. I'm always on the 8th floor and most of the time in the Medical Education Building.
I couldn't possibly name all the nurses that I have grown to love there but they all know who they are because they have become like our family. They have been such excellent caretakers of both me and my husband who stays in the room with me since we live 5 hours away.
It feels like going home and they have made what could be a miserable experience into something much more pleasant by their caring, loving, compassionate but professional attitude toward us and they will be forever in our heart.
UAB has a lot to be proud of with their staff and I wouldn't want to be cared for anywhere else but there.

I have been a patient at Kirklin Clinic for 5 years and 3 years at the UAB Transplant Clinic. Every nurse is concerned, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I have had a great experience with all the nurses.

During my recent hospitalization at UAB, I was fortunate to be under the care of several wonderful nurses. The most outstanding nurse was Beverly on the Liver Transplant Unit. …... My outstanding nurses were Beverly, Barry and Chris. The nursing assistants were LaPortia and Renitta. Thank you all for your service.
