UAB Organ Transplantation Program

Since 1968, UAB’s internationally known transplant services have performed more than 10,000 organ transplants. We recently completed the 5,000^th kidney transplant and have completed more than 500 heart transplants. Individuals from all over the world come to UAB for organ transplants because of our reputation as one of America’s top transplant centers and the reputation of our highly skilled and experience surgeons. UAB’s Organ Transplantation Program is one of the busiest in the nation, performing kidney, liver, heart, lung, pancreas, and islet cell transplants.
