UAB Division of Cardiovascular Disease
Cardiovascular disease has become one of the foremost health concerns in America, and UAB is leading the way in providing the latest clinical and research programs to battle heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases–America’s leading causes of death. The UAB Division of Cardiovascular Disease is dedicated to cutting-edge, compassionate, and innovative patient care, and UAB’s heart and heart surgery programs were ranked 31st in the nation in 2010 by US News & World Report. The National Institutes of Health has selected UAB as one of just five institutions nationwide–and the only university in the Southeast–to lead a massive, national research assault on congestive heart failure through the Center of Clinically Oriented Research program focusing specifically on heart failure research. Through a commitment to strong basic and clinical research programs, the Division is devoted to the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
