HIV - Specialists

Clinical leaders as well as educators and research faculty are published frequently in peer reviewed journals. The latest edition of the Women’s Guide for HIV Care published by the Health Resources and Services Administration will feature a chapter on Palliative and Supportive Care. The article was written by one of the UAB faculty members.

All providers of palliative and supportive care services in the HIV clinic are board certified or board eligible in hospice and palliative medicine. Staff includes physicians and nurse practitioners, a physician assistant, and medical professionals in training. 

Members of the interdisciplinary team at the HIV clinic involved in the care of palliative-care patients include social service, pharmacy, pastoral care and mental health.
