Pain Management - Overview
Acute and chronic pain can be overwhelming and stressful. At times it can result in depression and anxiety, which can decrease a patient’s quality of life. Pain can come from a wide variety of causes, ranging from chronic illness, cancer, and injury. At UAB, skilled and compassionate clinicians evaluate a patient’s needs to effectively determine the best course of action through less-invasive alternatives to surgery.
