Movement Disorders - Overview
The UAB Movement Disorders Clinic helps more than 1,000 new patients every year seeking treatment for a broad range of neurological conditions commonly called movement disorders.
These include:
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Huntington’s Disease
- Dystonia
- Myoclonus
- Tremor
The clinic features 11 physicians, each with a specialty focus on movement disorders, as well as six nurses dedicated to helping patients at the UAB Movement Disorders Clinic. In addition to the neurologists, neurosurgeons, and nurses, specialists in physical, occupational, and speech therapy are available to help patients maximize their functional abilities and quality of life while undergoing treatment.
Patients at the UAB Movement Disorders Clinic have access to the latest in treatments as well as new clinical trials. Each new patient at the UAB Movement Disorders Clinic is evaluated for inclusion in these ongoing trials.
