  • Schizophrenia
  • Severe Depression
  • Substance Abuse (by referral to UAB Drug Free)
  • Mood Disorders, such as Bipolar Disorder

Some services provided by Community Psychiatry include:
  • Evaluation Clinics provide an entry way to services by initial screenings
  • Psychotherapy services that offer individual, family and group psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy
  • Engel Adult Day Treatment Programs for patients who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness (SMI)
  • Various substance abuse programs available for individuals battling addiction
  • The Research and Evaluation of Assertive Community Treatment (REACT) team provides community-based psychiatric treatment for patients with SMI
  • Neuropsychological Evaluation for patients who suffer from serious mental conditions
  • Psychopharmacology Clinic provides follow-up care for SMI diagnosed patients who need to be monitored for side effects and responses to prescribed medications
