Administrative Fellowship

The Administrative Fellowship program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital provides qualified individuals a comprehensive training experience in health care management to complement and enhance the foundations of their academic programs. UAB Hospital is a world-class, state-of-the-art health care organization that embraces the opportunity to cultivate upcoming executives to lead the future of an increasingly complex health care environment. A diversity of health care operations combined with clinical and management expertise makes UAB Hospital an ideal fellowship opportunity. At least one fellow will be selected each year for the one-year fellowship.

Through hands-on project management, rotations through UAB entities, and integration into the activities of senior management, the fellow has unlimited exposure to the clinical and operational departments of the acute care-inpatient and outpatient-academic and community settings, as well as, the activities that occur at the corporate level. Regular attendance and participation at meetings of departmental staff, senior management, and professional staff further augments the learning experience.
