UAB Medicine

Physical Therapy

Physical therapists at UAB enjoy working in a learning environment. Working at Alabama’s only adult Level 1 trauma center, UAB Hospital therapists use their skill and creativity to treat the highest acuity patients. Always learning, therapists attend continuing education to advance their skills, and students from PT and PTA programs look forward to clinical rotations at UAB. Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants have the opportunity to take part in ongoing research and incorporate the latest evidence- and research-based therapies into their one-on-one treatment of a challenging and diverse patient population. With the opportunity to rotate to multiple work settings, the physical therapy staff enjoys developing strong work relationships with physicians, occupational therapists, speech therapists and nurses to really make a difference in the lives of the patients and families at UAB.
